Snowflakes
The beauty of snowflakes lies in their mesmerizing patterns, their pure and ethereal quality, their transient existence, their unparalleled diversity, and the sense of wonder they instill in us. These delicate ice crystals are a testament to the intricate artistry of nature and serve as a gentle reminder to find beauty in the simplest and most fleeting moments of life.
These are real snowflakes that I have captured through a not so simple process, but it showcases their beauty. Each snowflake image is created shooting a series of images (30-80) and focus stacking them due to the shallow depth of field inherit with macro photography. These are captured between roughly 2.5 and 5x magnification. The stacking process is done manually and takes about 2-4 hours per flake depending on the number of images used.
Enjoy my growing collection.
